Ever since it was founded in a village pub, the World Conker Championships has always aimed to support the local community in every place it has called home. Over the past decade, that home has been Southwick and, even more specifically, the Shuckburgh Arms. A great traditional local pub, we’re endlessly proud to support its history and play our part in keeping it open in a time when so many village pubs are closing their doors permanently.
As a result, “The Shuck” as it’s lovingly known, takes responsibility for sating any thirst with a great selection of locally sourced beverages alongside soft drinks for children and designated drivers. All profits from this go directly to the pub to ensure it can keep its doors open for many years to come both to serve as the heart of the village and the much loved home of our championships!
Beyond supporting our home and its community directly, we also take huge pride in supporting over local businesses and have made it our goal to work with caterers, producers and entertainers based in the local area. Not only does this help to support our environmental goals, but it allows us to spread some good within this beautiful area of Northamptonshire, giving opportunities for locals to show their skills and have a massive amount of fun while doing it.
We aim to cater for all and have loads of activities, stalls and performances to keep everyone entertained throughout the day.
