rEGISTRATION tERMS

By registering to compete in the 2024 World Conker Championships you are consenting to comply with and be bound by these terms. Failure to adhere to these terms may result in disqualification from the competition at the discretion of the organising committee.

If you are not willing or unable to consent to all of these terms, please contact the competition secretary at competition@worldconkerchampionships.com and highlight the section(s) of issue.

The Player's Oath

Upon completion of the registration process you agree to abide by all the rules and regulations of the Championships, following all instructions given to you by event officials.

You must play with the intent to win in a fair and legal manner, but, should you lose, you will be required to shake your opponents hand and leave the arena in a courteous manner.

Breaching this oath may lead to immediate disqualification from the Championships and potential exclusion from competing in the future.

Data Protection Policy

By registering to compete, you will grant permission for your data to be used in connection with your application to play in the World Conker Championships. All data collected will only be used to contact you in relation to your entry into the event and for use on the day for administrative and commentary purposes. The World Conker Championships will not pass any of the information given here to any other organisation without further permission.

In the event of you reaching a final within the event, we may also request for some of the data provided as part of the registration process to be given to press and media companies covering the event. This will be given with the intent for them to contact you for comments and interviews. You may refuse this request, but for the sake of the continuation of the championships for future years we hope that you will be willing to help us in promoting the event as best we can.

Costs & Damages

The World Conker Championships does not accept responsibility for any injury or damages that may occur as a result of playing in the competition. Any injuries sustained during standard play are taken at your own risk.

We are also unable to cover any costs that may arise from accepting media or press opportunities that require leave from work or travel fees.

Age of consent

In order to register to compete you must be aged 16 or over. Any player who is shown to fall outside of this bracket will be immediately disqualified. To avoid any issues, we ask all individuals aged 18 or under to bring a form of personal identification with them as a proof of age if challenged.

All entrants aged 16 or 17 must first gain consent from a parent or guardian before completing the registration process and should be accompanied by that person during the registration check-in on the day of the event. If we are unable to confirm consent we may be unable to let you compete.

Right to Refund

All entries to the World Conker Championships are non-refundable. Therefore, when registering, please be aware that you will not be able to claim a refund if you are unable to attend the event for any reason.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but as a non-profit charitable event our finances are quickly dedicated to other causes or fees required to run the event. Therefore, we do not have the necessary liquidity to offer refunds on an individual basis.

However, if the event is cancelled or your registration is cancelled by us without any breach of these terms, you will be eligible for a refund. Alternatively, you may be offered to carry the registration fee over to the championships the following year.
