Turn off the A1 onto the A43 at the south of Stamford. Travel through Easton-on-the-Hill and Collyweston, and then go straight over the roundabout at Duddington, staying on the A43. Turn off to go through Bulwick, and take the right hand fork to travel on to Southwick.
Turn off the AI onto the A47 west, at the roundabout, where there is no entrance to Wansford, stay on the A47. A little further on there is another turn into Wansford, and you can then join the usual route through Nassington.
Travelling West on the A47, go on further and then turn to King’s Cliffe. Go through the village, and at the T-junction, turn left through Apethorpe and Woodnewton, then on to Southwick.
The official diversion takes you East on the A47, through Peterborough, and then onto the A605, which will bring you in the usual way, but adds ten to fifteen minutes to the journey.
After the event, the A1 North is open, but is sometimes reduced to one lane, and there is usually a delay when it is.’
